LPC Missions

Lakeside, PCA connects with local college campuses through financially supporting the ministry of Reformed University Fellowship. Specifically, we are connected to TCU in Fort Worth and UNT in Denton through this campus ministry.  You can contact Campus Minister Bradford Greene (TCU) bradford.green@ruf.org and Justin Smith (UNT) justin.smith@ruf.org to learn how to connect with their ministry on campus.

Ellen and Rev. John Buerger
MTW Missionaries - Sophia, Bulgaria

Ellen and John met while attending college in Nebraska. The Lord laid it on their heart to adopt a little girl from Bulgaria, and during that process, they brought home a new daughter and a new calling to serve the people of Bulgaria through theological education and working with special needs families.

Lauren and Rev. Peter Dishman
MTW Missionaries - Bogotá, Columbia

Peter and Lauren Dishman married at the end of 2013 and are excited to be seeding a new campus ministry through a strategic partnership between Mission to the WorldReformed University Fellowship, and the Iglesia Reformada Evangelica de Colombia. The Dishmans serve students of the National University of Colombia in Bogotá, the country’s largest, oldest, and most diverse public university. Founded in 1867, the UNAL has grown to over 40,000 students and has a reputation both for strong research and strong leftward leanings often erupting in agitation.

Rachel and Mark Kim
MTW Missionaries - Nagoya, Japan

Rachel and Mark will partner with the Christ Bible Institute (CBI) and support the outreach and evangelism ministries that are run out of the community center/cafe. The darkness in Nagoya, Japan is real but even in that, the light shines more brightly. Join us in praying for the church in Japan and for the Spirit to move in drawing people to Himself as we prepare to go.

Sandra and Larry Rockwell
MTW Missionaries - Huaraz, Peru

Larry and Sandra first pursued short-term missions trips to Ecuador and Peru before being called to serve with MTW among the indigenous people group known as the Quechua in the Andes Mountains of Peru. In the mountain city of Huaraz, Larry trains and mentors the Quechua as God raises up men from among them to faithfully teach their own people in the isolated villages of the region. Larry and Sandra have been serving since 2003. They have three children; Lynae, Mackenzie and Jonathan.

Lydia and Robbie Sweet
MTW Missionaries - St. Andrews, Scotland

In 2013 the Lord called the Sweets to serve in St. Andrews, Scotland as part of MTW's Next Ministry. Next exists to serve the global church in engaging the emerging generation with the gospel. The Sweets will focus their efforts on serving with a local evangelical church plant. encouraging and equipping European leaders for next generation ministry, and will pursue ministry opportunities with the missionary kids serving in Europe.

Cynthia Ruble
Global Outreach - Nagoya, Japan

Cynthia lives and ministers in Nagoya, Japan with her adopted son Micah. She has a MA from Reformed Theological Seminary.  She is with New Church "Nozomi" (Hope).  Her primary ministry is to women with unplanned pregnancies.

Kirsten and Robert Hasler
Church Planting Apprentice - Washington, D.C.

Robert is the Church Planting Apprentice at Christ Presbyterian Church Burke in Burke, VA. He is a graduate of Hillsdale College and is currently pursuing an MDiv. from Covenant Theological Seminary. Robert and Kirsten moved to Washington, D.C. in 2015 and immediately fell in love with its history, culture, and people. Kirsten loves being a mom and teaches Children's Sunday School at their church. Their son James was born in 2018 and enjoys walks, avocado and wrestling with his dad.

Lakeside PCA Mission Trips
Belize

Since the summer of 2012, Lakeside has partnered with MTW to send mission teams to serve on short-term trips to Belize.

 

We've been involved in helping our brothers and sisters in Christ at Iglesia Evangelica Monte Sinai Presbyterian Church in Corozal. Teams have completed various projects on the church property and shared the love of Christ in the community by helping run Vacation Bible School.
